How Our Program Helps Families
Since 2003, our Financial Support Program for Hearing Aids has been a lifeline for families who cannot afford hearing aids due to insurance limitations or lack of financial resources. Unfortunately, many children in the greater Houston area are left without the hearing support they need.
Texas Hearing Institute is committed to bridging this gap by providing:
- Hearing aids tailored to the child's needs
- Comprehensive audiological evaluations
- Professional fitting and maintenance support
- Ongoing follow-up care
Hearing aids are essential for a child's ability to learn, communicate and thrive in their environment. With your support, we can continue helping children access the tools they need for a brighter future.
How the program works:
- The child is first referred to Texas Hearing Institute and anyone can refer a child.
- The family completes a financial intake to determine if the child meets the financial guidelines for the Financial Support Program for Hearing Aids.
- Texas Hearing Institute audiologists work closely with the family and sometimes the child’s educational audiologist to recommend a specific type of hearing aid.
- Texas Hearing Institute orders and dispenses the recommended hearing aid.
- Texas Hearing Institute provides all follow-up services that the child might need.
