Bone Conduction Solutions
Children who have conductive hearing loss. Osseointegrated bone conduction devices are FDA-approved, surgically implanted titanium posts or internal magnets that connect to an external digital sound processing device. This hearing instrument is programmed based on the child’s hearing loss and allows speech and language to be conducted through the patient's mastoid and middle ear bones, transmitting these sound vibrations to the inner ear, where the nerve fibers responsible for hearing are stimulated.
This type of hearing technology bypasses the parts of the ear where the conductive hearing loss is located.
